WISE Receives M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust Grant
Wrangell Institute for Science and Environment would like to thank M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust of Vancouver, Washington for recently awarding WISE a most generous grant. While the grant challenges WISE to raise matching funds from new sources to received the total award, it will allow for expanded operations and the hiring of a permanent Executive Director and summer naturalist. The Trust Grant also challenged WISE to raise additional funding to received the full benefits of the grant. WISE extends our heart felt thanks to all who made this grant possible and we look forward to providing high-quality science and environmental education to the citizens of the Copper River Basin.
The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust seeks to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska by providing grants and enrichment programs to non-profit organizations that seek to strengthen the region's educational, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways. The Trust’s founder Jack Murdock, believed in science and technology as a one of the most important sources of knowledge and inventiveness, knowledge which he believed to be the key to resolving many issues.
