WISE is making a difference through educating citizens to making informed decisions
We know that many of you have children that have benefited from WISE’s programs.
Your membership dollars are very important to WISE, supporting youth and adult programs,
summer camps, education programs and the lecture series. We work with community partners
to deliver these programs. New programs are presenting themselves all the time.
As we continue our existing programs and dream of more, we are striving to become
self sustaining through membership dues, donations, and fee based programs. WISE
is moving towards achieving its goal to become self sustaining as it continues to
develop and deliver educational programs relating to science and the environment
for people of all ages.
Now that we have full-time paid staff , it will be necessary raise more money to achieve our shared vision. In a world stressed to the point of collapse by rapidly-increasing demand for rapidly-diminishing resources, it is more important than ever to keep the fires of stewardship ethic burning.
Murdock Charitable Trust Opens A New Chapter For WISE
The coming New Year will usher in a big change for WISE. With the generous grant
from the Murdock Charitable Trust, WISE will move up from a part time –seasonal staff
to full time paid employees. This will vastly increase our ability to provide educational
services to the residents of the Copper River Basin.
The Murdock Charitable Trust
realized that moving WISE towards a more sustainable non-profit it needed to challenge
WISE to expand its funding sources. Part of the grant conditions, require WISE to
generate new sources of income to receive the full grant total. WISE needs to match
$23,000 in 2011 and $15,000 in 2012 to realize the full grant funding. This is where
the citizens, businesses and organizations around the basin can help us achieve that
goal. Please join us as a member via a monetary donation. Business members are especially
needed! Without this new money, our grant will be reduced and WISE will have to
down size our staff and services to previous levels.
To join us in our efforts, click on the Donate or PayPal logo and contribute in the funding level of your choice. Your donation will enroll you as a member of WISE and you will receive an annual newsletter to keep you updated on events, programs and opportunities. For Alaskan residents who would like to donate using the Pick-Click– Give Program click here. Which ever way you choose to help, WISE sincerely thanks you for your support. Thanks!!
Do you share this vision? You can help to make it a reality!
