Family Ice Fishing Day
Cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 Outbreak

For more information please contact the WISE office at 822-3575, or email contact@wise-edu.org.

On the first Saturday of every April, the WISE/BLM Family Ice Fishing Day  brings families and volunteers together for a day of fun, learning, and outdoor recreation at Silver Lake. Volunteers from the Bureau of Land Management and the Alaskan Department of Fish and Game drill holes, provide loaner equipment, and give fishing tips.

Over 100 individuals attended the event in 2017. Sonar and underwater camera were set up in a tent, a hot lunch of chili, hot dogs, and cookies was provided, and prizes were given out
